Carsten McCarter
Carsten McCarter, LAC Clinical Consultant
I have been a Licensed Addictions Counselor since 2002 and have worked in the field of recovery since 1995. My career has included inpatient and continued care settings for adolescents and emerging adults, and eventually led me to found and operate my own residential program. Over the years, I have developed deep familiarity with a wide range of quality programs across the country and have always prioritized referrals grounded in service and integrity. My insights into the recovery process are shaped by decades of experience with families and individuals, as well as my own personal journey.
I approach each person with compassion, dignity, and respect. I believe that “in our presence resides our power,” and I encourage clients to find moments and practices that cultivate focus and mindfulness. My work is informed by the transformative potential of innate spirituality and grounded in helping people build practical, daily habits that foster healing from the inside out.
Outside of my clinical work, I am a Licensed Fly Fishing Guide in Montana, where I find focus and mindfulness in the rivers, sometimes even landing a few fish along the way. I’ve been married to my best friend, Jen, since 1998, and together we’ve committed to a life of service and adventure. We are also the proud parents of two children who continue to teach us, challenge us, and expand our perspectives.
